ANA BLANDIANA<\/strong> is the author of 31 poetry books, prose and essays written in Romanian and translated in 26 languages. Renowned for her prodigious artistic longevity, she is a writer, member of many national and international literary academies, lecturer and activist against communist politics.<\/p>\n

She is the recipient of many national and international awards<\/strong> : Herder Preis (Vienne), Couronne d\u2019Or (Struga), Griffin Award for Excellence in Poetry (Toronto).<\/p>\n

Named European Liberty Poet <\/strong> – 2016 \u2013 Gdansk, Poland.<\/p>\n

Awarded Doctor Honoris Causa <\/strong> by five universities in Romania<\/strong>, by Universidad de Salamanca in Spain<\/strong>, and by University St. Kliment Ohridski in Bulgaria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Under the aegis of European Council and in cooperation with Romulus Rusan, she initiated and was founding member<\/strong> of theMemorial of the Victims of Communism and of Resistance \u2013 Sighet<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n
